I know it might sound a bit crazy, but having ice water showers will keep you healthy through all the seasons. It includes winter as well.

Autumn and winter is the best time for bacteria to spread and our bodies become quite easily affected by it. Not enough vitamins and low immune system both can lead to being sick with a flew or even worse. So looking after your health during those seasons is a must for everyone. Especially after all the swine flu outbreaks around the world.

Recently, I was watching a program on TV about healthy lifestyle and techniques on how to keep healthy without medicines. For some it might sound as strange, but unfortunately that is how we are being brought up. You get sick and here you go – aspirin or paracetamol are on the way. Of course they help, but pour you and your liver. In any way, lets get back to the program. So, there was this guy, full of health and he was serving in the army. He wanted to become a tank driving instructor and was full of dreams about his military career. But one day, there was a health commission, and he did not pass it. His health condition was not good enough even for an office worker. Let along driving tanks. They told him, his career in the army was finished.

He did not give up and said that he will come back after six months for a health check again and they agreed. After that, he started his research into alternative medicine. And that’s how he found ice water treatments. In six months he cured himself and was approved to come back to the army.

In his research, for example, he found a very interesting fact: while taking an ice water bath, the temperature of the body actually rises to 40C and all the bacteria die at 39C. See what I mean? There was actually another guy and he had a cancer. It was so bad that he decided to commit a suicide. He went to river in the winter and thought he will go in, stay in water for one hour. Get hard core infection and die from it. So he did, he went into the water, stayed there for one hour and… The cancer HAD GONE!

I am not suggesting you have to stay in the ice water for hour or anything like that. Try pouring some cold water from the tab in the morning all over your body, below the neck. Maybe even two buckets if you are brave enough. You will see the difference after a few days. Your immune system will get the boost, your nerves system calms down and most importantly you will be on the way to a healthy lifestyle without medicine.

We all grow up in different places around the world. Some places are sunny like Southern California or the Middle East and other places are cold like Alaska or Siberia. Whatever type of climate we grow up in, we grow accustomed too. Location can make a difference when you move to a drastically different climate. If you are use to a sunny, hot location and you move to a cold, rainy climate the change can be too much. Overcast weather, if you are not used to it, can make you feel tired and depressed. It can be hard to pull yourself out of the funk until the sun comes back out. Bright sunny weather actually releases good feelings inside us, so it is easier to be active, motivated, and happy in warm weather. This is why more people are depressed in the winter than they are in the summer.

Location can also make a difference for overcoming depression, if you are far away from family and friends. A strong support network is one of the best cures for overcoming depression. A support network can encourage you and keep you going when you want to give up. The further you are from your support network the more difficult it can be to overcome depression.

Location can make a difference when trying to overcome depression, but it doesn’t have to. Develop a support system to help you out and find a climate you can enjoy year round.

Laughing, spending quality time with family, allowing yourself to relax, and creating a positive outlook are all things you can do in a healthy lifestyle. If you have these things, they can also help you overcome depression. If you are laughing and enjoying yourself, it is difficult to be down and out. Spending time with family and friends can pull you right out of your funk.

A healthy lifestyle can help to overcome depression because you feel better naturally. Learning tips and tricks to stay healthy are nothing but positive; positivity is the opposite of depression.

They are nutrients the body craves, but often doesn’t get enough of through food sources. Up the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids, your brain loves this nutrient and it leads to overall good brain health. Other good vitamins are B12, Folic Acid, and Iron.

Daily exercise is great for the body too. Exercise releases endorphins in the brain, these are the body’s natural ‘feel good’ drugs. Getting outside and walking around the block is a good start. Once you start to realize that exercise makes you feel better, you will want to do more, more often.

Changing to a healthy lifestyle can help ward off depression and help you overcome it quicker as well. Simple eating better and exercising more regularly will help prevent depression and make you feel good all over.
